It takes a village to reach your dreams, and we are no exception. While the creative endeavors we each have varies slightly, we realized that as a team, we can get more done, and use our collective skills to benefit one another. Thus, Cornerstone Creative Co was born. While we professionally will be working under our individual names, the overarching title is a reminder of why we’re doing what we’re doing, and how community strengthens our artistic dreams.
There’s no direct path into the theater world, and we are excited to jump in and see where the road takes us. We plan to start by producing various cabarets, offering us the chance to feature and celebrate our friends, see Emmy shine as a performer, and make our (Torie and Haley) 54 Below debuts. And then, we’ll let the Lord take it from there. And one day, our “Coming Up Next” tab will say Broadway.
Beyond that, we hope that Cornerstone Creative isn’t just a once a quarter performance, but rather an inclusive and engaging community that empowers the ambitions of not just passionate performers, but all creators and consumers of theater. Through developing performance opportunities, encouraging networking, and providing intersectional spaces, we are making a cornerstone in the theater district that we ourselves need. At the core, we want to create more art together, and uplift more women, queer women, and queer Christian women in the industry, by reminding everyone to lead with love and light. We aspire to welcome in all individuals that fit into our values of acceptance, kindness, accessibility and a drive for innovation, regardless of religion, sexuality, gender, or any other element that makes up your identity or physical appearance.
Each of us has been touched by theater, and find ourselves in New York because of the way it makes us feel, and we want to invite you into that. We are called to encourage one another to build each other up, and we look forward to your support and in return the chance to boost and incorporate you into our career endeavors.
